How many planets are there in our solar system?

Until 2006, there was thought to be 9 planets in the Solar System. In 2006, the International Astronomical Union decided that Pluto is no longer a planet, so there are now only 8 planets in the Solar System.

What is the name of the galaxy that our solar system is in?

The name of our galaxy is the Milky Way. Our solar system is located in the outer reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy. All of the stars that you see at night and our Sun belong to the Milky Way.
