Sutton Hoo

The Sutton Hoo ship is a royal burial.

The burial was of an important Anglo-Saxon chief, probably King Raedwald who ruled East Anglia in the seventh century. He was one of the most powerful Saxon kings.

Archaeologists found coins. jewellery, weapons and other treasures at Sutton Hoo. But the most exciting of all were the remains the great ship.
