The Prospect of Whitby Pub
The Prospect of Whitby, one of the most famous pubs in Britain, claims to be the oldest Thames riverside pub.
Limehouse gets its name from the 'lime kilns'established here in the 14th Century and used to produce quick lime for building mortar. Pottery manufacture followed.
This is where Regents Canal enters the Thames.
